Working Archaeological Workshop – Free Admission

What does it actually look like when archaeologists work with finds unearthed in Copenhagen? Every Wednesday afternoon, the Museum of Copenhagen opens the doors to its Archaeological Workshop. Here, you can get a close-up look at the work of recording, documenting and packing the many objects recovered from the ground – from ceramics and glass to leather shoes, knitted socks and tiny silk caps. 

You’ll have the opportunity to look over the archaeologists’ shoulders and ask questions about both the finds and the methods behind their work. It’s a rare chance to experience the side of museum work that normally takes place behind closed doors. 
 

Where: Archaeological Workshop, Stormgade 20 – on the corner of Stormgade and H. C. Andersens Boulevard 

When: Every Wednesday in September, October and November, 3–5pm.
