The museum moves to central Copenhagen

Museum of Copenhagen moves from Vesterbrogade to Stormgade in 2020.

The new address offers a new and central location, more visibility and easier access. The move is financed by the City of Copenhagen.

Due to the move, the museum closed all exhibitions on Vesterbrogade, including the Picture Archive on 9. October 2015.

A new Museum of Copenhagen

The museum in Vesterbro has delighted visitors for many years but it has become increasingly difficult to create contemporary exhibitions in the listed buildings. The new location close to other museums and cultural institutions will bring about new opportunities for co-creation and cooperation.

The new museum will collaborate with the surrounding museums and cultural institutions to create relevant exhibitions and activities that will strengthen Museum of Copenhagen’s goal – accessibility for everybody and knowledge of the city’s cultural heritage.
