The museum collects and preserves objects, photographs, sounds, paintings and films about Copenhagen.

The collections of the museum are gathered over more than 100 years. Many different principles have ruled since the museum was founded as a City Hall Museum in 1901 up until todays outreach donation projects. For the same reason, the museum has a vast and rich collection that holds items such as valuable paintings, fragile photographs, rocky pavement stones and huge lamp posts.

Read more about the collections from the stories in the menu.
